Polly Katherine Williams Ours

Polly Katherine Williams Ours, age 83, of Moorefield, WV, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at her residence.  Born on December 2, 1935 in Moorefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late William Howard Williams and Evelyn Merle Vetter Williams.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, George Judy Ours; and two brothers, William Howard “Bill” Williams, Jr. and Harry Thomas “Sonny” Williams.

She is survived by three sisters, Evelyn “Louise” Davis of Moorefield, WV, Phyllis Jean Schell of Moorefield, WV, and Nancy Lee Barr and husband, Allen of Martinsburg, WV; one brother, James Edward Williams and wife, Jeanette of Columbia, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

Polly retired in 1989 with 32 years of dedicated service to the children of West Virginia as Grant County School Librarian.  She was a member of the South Branch Valley Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, a member of the South Branch Duplicate Bridge Club, an American Bridge Club League Life Master and a member of the Moorefield Presbyterian Church.  Polly enjoyed traveling throughout the Tri State area playing in numerous bridge tournaments.

Graveside services will be held at the Olivet Cemetery, Moorefield, WV on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Mike Funkhouser officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at Elmore Funeral Home, Moorefield, WV. Memorial Donations may be made to the Harry T. “Sonny” Williams Scholarship Fund, P. O. Box 907, Moorefield, WV   26836.

Arrangements are under the direction of Elmore Funeral Home.
